Please Help Sabin

From June 19, 2011 to July 23, 2011 a poor little kitten named Sabin had to fight to keep her life. She had to suffer through dozens of tests and procedure, unfamiliar situations, and was on the brink of death multiple times. She had no idea why those terrible things had to happen to her. She spent weeks alone in a strange place, with IVs sticking in her constantly. Her doctors could not find the source of her problems and everyone had given up hope. Two and a half months later, she is finally better (hopefully). Saving a life, however, is not always cheap. Please help.

Some people might think that spending $7000 on a kitten is a waste of money, that the money should go towards helping healthy kittens. However, as her foster parents, we feel that it is our obligation to give her, and any of our other fosters for that matter, the best chance at a wonderful, happy life that we can. She didn't ask to be born into this world where millions of animals are euthanized each year in shelters. She has no conception of money, so money should not play any role in determining her fate.

Although we feel this way, it turns out that emergency veterinary care can be extremely pricey. And it just so happens that we aren't the richest people in the world. We're both full time college students, and we work part-time. That being said, we don't have much money, and in order to keep up with Sabin's treatment, we had to take out a very large line of credit.

We're hoping that you'll read about Sabin, and be touched by her story. If you could share this website with everyone you know, and perhaps find a few dollars to donate to cover her medical bills, we would greatly appreciate it. All donations will go directly to paying her medical bills, and we'll post our account statement each month if you'd like.

If you have any suggestions, comments, or questions about Sabin or this website, please let us know.

Thank you!
